Live Nativity and Open House
December 2, 2007
On December 16th, at 5:30 p.m., Algiers UMC will present a Live Nativity at the church. There will also be singing of Christmas carols and some special time for the children. There will be refreshments served in the fellowship hall afterwards.

Celebration in the Oaks's
December 2, 2007
Algiers UMC has a decorated Christmas tree in City Park’s Celebration in the Oaks and the theme is “A Host of Angels.” Found in Storyland, it is tree #79. It is located behind the fire truck and count back several trees.

Christmas Choral
December 2, 2007
The Algiers UMC Choir will present its annual choral concert of Christmas music on Sunday, December 9th, at 10:15 a.m. The congregation will take part in the program entitled “Together We Sing the Songs of Christmas”. We invite the public, especially those who would enjoy the opportunity to join with others in singing some of our most well-loved carols.

Misson Moment - Did you Know?

Living out the commissioning of Jesus Christ is what our ministry objective is all about. Please pray that we may be effective and be able to introduce the kingdom to others. We are so excited about the ministry the church is faithfully pursuing. We believe God’s hands are serving others and by meeting the needs of others, people are realizing that this church, can be their church. Keep our mission work in your prayers. Do you have any spare time that needs filling? We give thanks for all those in mission, near and far.

BOT Workday
December 2, 2007
The gardens looked wonderful after their cleaning on the November workday. Our thanks to all who participated. The church workday is scheduled for December 1st, from 8:00 a.m.— 12:00 p.m. All are encouraged to come for the great day of fellowship sponsored by our Board of Trustees. Indoors we hope to replace the dishwasher, get the kitchen ceiling panels put up, etc. Come help! No one is too young or too old!

Mother's Day out
December 2, 2007
We are looking forward to a fun filled December with our little ones. Several new items have been added to our playroom. Our two new babies have made a hit with everyone. Our big wooden blocks are getting a workout as the children build fences and towers. The towers get to be pretty high until one of the younger ones comes along and plows into them. So then it is time to start building all over again.

After School Special
December 2, 2007
The children are eagerly anticipating Christmas. We are learning about the birth of Jesus and what it means to God’s people. The children have decorated a tree in our classroom, have made ornaments, and gifts to share with others. We will have our Christmas party on Tuesday, December 11th because the children get out of school early on the 18th. We will resume this program on Tuesday, January 8th, 2008.
