After School Special
December 2, 2007
The children are eagerly anticipating Christmas. We are learning about the birth of Jesus and what it means to God’s people. The children have decorated a tree in our classroom, have made ornaments, and gifts to share with others. We will have our Christmas party on Tuesday, December 11th because the children get out of school early on the 18th. We will resume this program on Tuesday, January 8th, 2008. |

S.T.A.I.R.

I wish to personally thank Betty Glancey, Clera Hughes, and Mary Ingram for their willingness to volunteer their time to tutor the children in the S.T.A.I.R. program. They each took time to go through tutor training and I thank you for your dedication. Hopefully our program will begin soon. We are still waiting on children to be signed up. We pray those the program will benefit, will be willing to accept the gift. |

After School Special
November 4, 2007
The children continue to come for this special program. Each child received candy, a new toothbrush, and dental floss for Halloween Treats. They learned in October that Jesus is our Shepherd when we studied the 23rd Psalm. Please continue to pray for this outreach ministry. |

S.T.A.I.R.
September 1, 2007
The STAIR (Start the Adventure in Reading) program, also starts back in September. This year, we will do STAIR on Mondays and Wednesdays at 2:45-4:45 pm in order to meet the children’s after school needs. There will be a tutor workshop on Monday, October 1st, 1:30-3:30 pm at Algiers UMC. |

The children have been attending Vacation Bible School and are enjoying fellowship with all the children. We continue to pray all the children have a happy and safe summer vacation. |

It is hard to believe the school year is almost over. The last day of school for Behrman Elementary is May 14th. This is also our last day of After School Special until the fall of 2007. |

Spring is Near

Spring is near. It is a time for newness. There are many lessons to teach about Jesus. I am looking forward to teaching our students about the Lenten Season, Holy Week, and sharing the wonderful story of Easter. |

I am happy to report we have had as many as 15 students from the Behrman Elementary School on Monday afternoons for the After School Special. |
