Joy Club Update
December 2, 2007
CHRISTMAS — My favorite time of the year. Our next JOY Club luncheon will be held on Wednesday, December 12th at 11:30 a.m. Please join us as we celebrate a CAJUN CHRISTMAS at Algiers UMC. We will have a special reading from A Cajun Night Before Christmas. Our tables will be decorated in real Cajun style right down to Santa and his pirogue. You will think you are right on the bayou with our entertainment, decorations, and food. Of course, we will also have to sing some Christmas songs. Bring a friend or two — the more the merrier. |

Mother's Day out
December 2, 2007
We are looking forward to a fun filled December with our little ones. Several new items have been added to our playroom. Our two new babies have made a hit with everyone. Our big wooden blocks are getting a workout as the children build fences and towers. The towers get to be pretty high until one of the younger ones comes along and plows into them. So then it is time to start building all over again. |

November is a time for giving thanks for all that we have. I am thankful for everyone who attends JOY Club and also all of the wonderful people who help decorate, entertain, serve, and clean up each month. |

Mother's Day Out
November 4, 2007
October has been a fun month. All of our little ones have settled back into their MDO routine. We have enjoyed watching the season change slowly into fall. We have read stories about autumn, trees, and pumpkins. Our art projects are connected with our stories so we have colored squirrels, leaves, and a big pumpkin. We have even worked on angel wings which will be placed on angel ornaments for our Christmas tree in City Park’s Celebration in the Oaks. Everyone will have to go to City Park to find their “Little Angel’s” ornament on our tree. |

Where did our summer go? It seems like it just got here!!! Our next JOY Club theme will be a “Farewell to Summer”. Summer always reminds me of the fun times at the beach so our decorations will be a little reminiscent of those times for me. |

Mother's Day Out

Our Mother’s Day Out Program will resume on Tuesday, September 4th. Our workers, Teresa, Nell, and Peggy, are anxious to see how all of their little ones have grown over the summer. We have a few new toys for the children to explore. |

Wow! Those lazy days of summer will soon be upon us. Please join our JOY CLUB as we celebrate those wonderful days. Summer reminds me of sandy beaches, fishing, and sitting on the screen porch on the Gulf Coast with family and friends eating boiled seafood. Doesn’t get much better than that! |

Mothers Day Out

We are winding down a little bit and are taking a mini vacation during the months of June and August. We will reopen MDO on Thursday, July 5th. We want to be able to keep in touch with our “little ones”. |

A salute to Memorial Day will be the theme of our next Joy Club Luncheon which will be held on Wednesday, May 9th, at 11:30 a.m. We will have a sing-a-long with patriotic songs. |
