Christ the King Sunday
T H A N K S G I V I N G

Thanksgiving Sunday is always celebrated on the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving Day. Christ the King Sunday is always celebrated on the final Sunday of the Christian calendar before the season of Advent begins. Not always, but often these two celebrations occur on the same Sunday, as they do this year. When that happens, which one do we choose to celebrate?

Why not both? That’s what we will be doing this Sunday. Let us give thanks for all the blessings of our lives, but, as the hymn we will sing so beautifully proclaims:

For thyself, best Gift Divine,
to the world so freely given,
for that great, great love of thine,
peace on earth and joy in heaven:
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise!

See you Sunday!
Callie
